Pre-War Gibson with a hint of the era.

This L-00, which later became known as the "Blues King," has FON printed on the neck block, but the ink has been blown off, making it difficult to read. The body back also has binding, and judging from the 3-ply black and white rosette, this guitar was probably made between 1937 and 1940. The painted logo in writing, striped pickguard, candy-like sunburst, and V-shaped neck are all indicative of a pre-war Gibson. It has a period feel to it.
It appears to have been over-lacquered throughout, but time has probably already caused scratches, dings, and paint clouding on it, so it doesn't look or sound too different visually. Small chips, touch-up areas, tarnish and rust on metal parts, and raised peg bushings can also be seen, but there are no cracks or their repair marks, and considering the age of the instrument, it is maintained in relatively good condition. There is some bulging on the top, but this is normal for vintage Gibsons and does not affect playability. The end pins are missing.
The neck has been refretted, the fingerboard has been corrected, the height has been adjusted with a spacer under the nut, and the saddle has been replaced at our affiliated repair shop. The neck is in perfect condition, and the neck is in perfect playing and sound condition. 12 fret string height is about 2.7mm on the 6th string side and about 2.0mm on the 1st string side.
The small body gives the guitar a warm tone, and the vintage resonance is very appealing. It is one that has survived the era of prosperity of American music.
