Limited edition of 191 pieces designed by C.F. Martin IV!

Limited edition of 191 pieces produced in 1997. This is the 38th piece. Designed by former president C.F. Martin IV himself. Featuring spruce top, rosewood sides and back, mahogany neck, ebony bridge and fingerboard. The top braces are scalloped, with herringbone decoration on the top binding and Avalon on the rosette. Unique hexagon inlays on the fingerboard and bridge midsection, and C.F. Martin IV signature inlay on the 20th fret.
There are some minor dents, shallow scratches, and abrasions throughout, and some paint bumps can be seen at the wood/plastic joints. The binding on the body has some signs of peeling, and there is a gap at the heel of the neck on the back. The back of the instrument has a gap at the neck heel. There is no significant damage.
The neck is in fair condition, and although there is some wear on the frets, more than 70% of the fret height remains, making it perfect for playability and sound.
The sound character is generally similar to that of a D-28. It has clarity and depth of sound at the same time. It has just the right amount of compression, and the bass is not too boomy, making it a very pleasant guitar to play. Although it is a collector's item, it is also a highly practical guitar that can be recommended for everyday use.

1997年に191本生産された限定モデル。当個体は38本目。前社長のC.F.マーティン4世自らがデザイン。スプルース・トップ、ローズウッド・サイド＆バック、マホガニー・ネック、エボニー・ブリッジ＆指板をフィーチャー。トップ・ブレースはスキャロップド加工が施され、トップのバインディングにはヘリンボーンの装飾が、ロゼットにはアバロンが採用されています。指板とブリッジの中抜きのヘキサゴンのインレイがユニークです。20フレットにはC.F.マーティン4世のサインがインレイされています。
細かい打痕、浅い引っ掻き傷、擦り傷が全体に散見され、木とプラスチックの接合部に塗膜の段差が確認できます。またボディのバインディングには剥がれの修正痕があり、バックはネック・ヒール部における隙間が確認できます。年式相応の使用感、経年劣化と言えるでしょう。大きく目立つダメージはありません。
ネックの状態は適正で、フレットには若干の摩耗が確認できますが、高さは7割以上残っており、演奏性、サウンドともに申し分ありません。
概ねD-28に通じるサウンド・キャラクターです。明瞭さと音の深みを同時に感じさせてくれます。適度なコンプレッション感もあり、低音がブーミーに鳴り過ぎず、弾いていて気持ちの良いギターです。コレクターズ・アイテムではありますが、実用性も高く普段使いのギターとしてもお勧めできる一本。

All items we sell are USED and comes as shown in the pictures so there may be marks of use. All items were tested by our store staff and we test each item one more time before shipping them out to make sure they are fully functional.
