This 1979 D-28 with a non-scalloped brace has an appealing horsepower sound, and comes in a black case with Grover 102 pegs and a replacement black pickguard. It is also attractive in that it retains the "look and feel of that era.
There are some dents, scratches, weather checks, cloudy paint, satin paint on the back of the neck, and bumps in the paint at the joints, but considering the age of the instrument, it is still in relatively good condition. The pickguard has been replaced by a new pickguard with a painted surface, which was done by a partner repair store.
The neck angle was adjusted, refretted, the saddle was replaced, and the nut height was adjusted with shims at the affiliated repair store. The sound is perfect as well as the playability.
It has a deep resonance, but the bass is moderately tight and well-balanced from bass to treble. It can be said to be a 70's D-28 with an ideal sound. The case that comes with the instrument is black. There is some rust and sash distortion commensurate with its age, but no missing hardware, tacks, emblems, etc.
This is recommended by the person in charge, who has been a Martin owner for over 40 years and loves music and items from the 70's.
