03-2800005691535
[SN 5505] USED TUNE / TWXT-4BB OIL [03]
We have received a used TUNE TWXT4BB OIL in stock.

Since its founding in 1983, TUNE has garnered support from many bassists for its original designs and high level of craftsmanship.

This model, the TWXT4BB, incorporates many of the distinctive features unique to TUNE. It features a body with a laminated top and back made of walnut, padauk, and bubinga, combined with a hard maple core; a 5-piece through-neck made of hard maple and walnut; and an ebony fingerboard.

It is equipped with the original SWS-4V pickup. In addition to the Master Volume, Pickup Balancer, Bass, Treble, and Notch Filter controls, it also features a Middle control via an internal trimmer, allowing for a wide range of sound shaping. You can fully enjoy the fast attack, clear tone, and wide dynamic range that are hallmarks of TUNE.

The instrument’s most distinctive feature is the original CAT SYSTEM tremolo bridge. This specification is rarely seen on standard basses, and the unique harmonic richness and sustain it provides are among the instrument’s most appealing characteristics.

The truss rod functions properly. Regarding the exterior, there is some fading of the headstock logo—a common occurrence with TUNE instruments—as well as a missing truss rod cover and one missing mounting screw. The laminated section on the back of the neck shows slight unevenness in the wood due to aging. Some parts exhibit signs of tarnish. The strap pins have been replaced with lock-pin types, but the original strap-side parts are included.

This is a quintessential TUNE instrument, combining a unique design philosophy with exceptional craftsmanship. We highly recommend this particular model to those seeking the clear sound and excellent playability characteristic of high-end Japanese-made basses.

Condition Grade: B+: Some minor scratches, but no issues for normal use

Serial Number: 5505
Country of Manufacture: Japan
Case: Soft case
Accessories: Tremolo arm, locking pin (strap side)
Weight: 4.64 kg
Truss Rod: No issues
Fret Wear: No issues
Scale: 864 mm (34")
Repairs and Maintenance: Cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment

* As this is a used item, there may be scratches, dents, or other imperfections that are not clearly visible in the photos or not listed here.
