We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1999 Le Grand!

The signature model named after Johnny Smith, the jazz guitarist famous for composing "Walk Don't Run," was introduced as a different model number "Le Grand" after the contract/distribution rights with Gibson expired.

The 17" wide body is similar to the L-5, with a solid spruce body top carved out of veneer, and sides and back made of maple that is also carved and pressed.

The 25 1/2" scale neck with ebony fingerboard is adorned with gorgeous Avalon split block inlays, just like the Super 400, and the massive headstock is also very dignified.
The spruce top, body back, and neck are all beautifully crafted, making this a truly "Legrand" jazz guitar.

The finger tailpiece is equipped with fine tuners that contribute to fine pitch adjustment, and the volume knob is located on the pickguard to avoid spoiling the high quality body sound.
The pickups are also mounted with floating type mini-humbucker BJBs.
The thickness of the neck grip is not too wild, so the sound grain is crisp and practical for speedy solos and tension chords.

A strap pin has been added to the heel of the neck.
There seems to be a crack around the back of the nut on the neck, which has been partially repainted.

There are some minor cracks on the neck and some small dents and scratches on the body.
There are also cracks on the head and neck binding.

The neck has a slight forward bow on the 6th string side compared to the 1st string side.
The bridge is adjustable, and the string height is 2mm on the 6th string and 1.6mm on the 1st string at the 12th fret, so there is no problem in playing.
There is plenty of room in the truss rod and about 80% of the frets are left, so this is a guitar that can still be played.

The case comes with a NAZCA gig bag.

「Walk Don't Run」を作曲したことでも有名なジャズ・ギタリスト「Johnny Smith」の自身の名を冠したシグネチャー・モデルが、ギブソンとの契約/販売権が切れたことによって、別の型番「Le Grand」として登場したモデル。

L-5を踏襲した17インチ幅のボディで、単板を削り出しのソリッド・スプルースを使用したボディ・トップ、また同様にカーヴド・プレスされたメイプルによるサイド/バックというスタイルです。

エボニー指板を配した25 1/2インチ・スケールのネックには、Super 400同様にゴージャスなアバロン・スプリット・ブロックインレイが輝いており、その重厚なヘッドストックも貫禄十分。
トップ材のスプルース、ボディ・バックやネックのメイプルもそれぞれ美しく、まさに「Legrand」なジャズ・ギターです。

繊細なピッチ調整に貢献するファイン・チューナー付きのフィンガー・テイルピースを搭載している他、良質なボディの鳴りをスポイルさせないためのこだわりとして、ボリュームノブはピックガード上に配線しているのも見逃せません。
ピックアップもフローティングタイプのミニハムバッカーBJBをマウントしております。
ネックグリップの厚みも野暮ったくないので、スピード感のあるソロやテンションコードでも音の粒立ちが鮮明で実用的です。

ネック・ヒールにストラップ・ピンが増設されております。
ネックのナット裏辺りにクラックがあったと思われ、一部塗装修正がされております。

ネックに細かなクラックが見られ、ボディにも小さな打痕や擦り傷が散見されます。
ヘッドやネックのバインディングにもクラックがあり、若干使用感のある個体ですが、派手な傷はございません。

ネックは1弦側に比べ、6弦側が若干順反り気味です。
若干のトップ落ちも見受けられますが、ブリッジの調整幅もあり、弦高は12フレットで6弦 2mm、1弦 1.6mmで、演奏上の問題もございません。
トラスロッドの余裕もあり、フレットの残量は8割ほどですので、まだまだ弾きこめる一本です。

ケースはNAZCA製のギグバッグが付属致します。

All items we sell are USED and comes as shown in the pictures so there may be marks of use. All items were tested by our store staff and we test each item one more time before shipping them out to make sure they are fully functional.
