This is a piece by STATUS GRAPHITE, one of the leading high-end bass makers in the UK. Serial number is 155, manufactured in 1986.

The price in 1986 was 700,000 yen for the high-end S2 model with exotic wood top, and 600,000 yen for this S2000 with graphite facings.
The S2000 with graphite facings was priced at 600,000 yen.

The tuner section and the bridge are divided into an assy, and the headpiece's carefully crafted rackard brass texture has something in common with Alembic, which is said to be the supreme bass maker in the bass world. The back panel on the back of the body and even the battery cavity lid are finished in lacquered brass with no compromise.
The sound is completely different from the status quo of recent years, with a thick, muddy, one-of-a-kind sound. The heavy low end, percussive middle, and low treble are reminiscent of the 80s.
The unique tapered neck shape, which becomes thicker as it gets closer to the body, is confusing at first, but once you get used to it, you will not find it hard to play at all.

The battery cavity lid still has a sticker mark of Kanda Shokai, the distributor at that time.
Comes with a high quality MONO brand gig case.

1986年当時の販売価格でエキゾチックウッドをトップにあしらった　上位機種のS2 が700,000円　グラファイトフェイシングのこのS2000 が600,000円と
超高額だった事とステイタスというブランド名もあり、多くのプレーヤーが憧れたブランドでした。

チューナー部とブリッジが分割されたアッシーや、ヘッドピースの丁寧に作りこまれたラッカードブラスの質感はベース界の至高とも言われるアレンビックと共通するものがあります。ボディ裏のバックパネルやバッテリーキャビティーの蓋までもラッカー塗りのブラス仕上げという妥協の無さも特筆。
サウンドは近年のステイタスとは全く違う、骨太で泥臭さをも感じさせる唯一無二のサウンド。重厚なローエンド、パーカッシヴなミドル、低めのトレブルが80年代を感じさせます。
ボディ近くになるにつれ太くなる独特のテーパーのついたネックシェイプは、最初こそ戸惑うものの慣れると全く弾き辛さを感じさせません。

バッテリーキャビティの蓋には当時の代理店である神田商会のステッカー痕が残っています。

All items we sell are USED and comes as shown in the pictures so there may be marks of use. All items were tested by our store staff and we test each item one more time before shipping them out to make sure they are fully functional.

All items for sale on ISHIBASHI MUSIC are stock currently available from all of ISHIBASHI stores around Japan. So it might take a few days for shipping.
