The engraving is a so-called "TRANS STAMP," a 26-inch ride estimated to be from the 1940s based on its overall construction.

Although we were unable to determine the detailed year of the engraving, it appears to be a 1940s A Jill, based on the rather faded engraving, the impression of the raising, and the finish.

The most notable feature is the hammering. In addition to the relatively even hammering typical of A, there are some deep hand-hammering marks like so-called "cluster hammers" everywhere, and it seems that the hammering is quite characteristic for the individual.

The weight of 3234g is relatively light for a 26-inch cymbal, and although the ping sound is stable as expected of a large cymbal, the whole cymbal shakes when crashed, and a very grand sound and rich overtones can be enjoyed. It is unclear whether this cymbal was produced by trial and error or by special order at the time, but the 26-inch size is quite rare, and I feel that this cymbal has a very complex sound even among the old A cymbals.

Unfortunately, the center hole is keyholed by about 5mm, but there is no damage to the piece.
There are some fingerprints, some rough edges, and some slight deformation, but since this cymbal is almost 80 years old, it is enough that it has remained with this level of damage, and the sound is exceptional.
The sound is exceptional. It has a magnificent sound like a wonderful wave, but it is moderately dead, calm, and very elegant.

This is a very rare 26" old A with a "personality" that is neither A-zill nor K-zill.

刻印はいわゆる「TRANS STAMP」で全体的な作りから1940年代の物と推定される26インチのライドです。

刻印の細かい年式は特定できませんでしたが、かなり薄めの刻印であることや、レイジングの印象や仕上げから、1940年代のAジルでないかとみられます。

特筆すべきはハンマリングで、Aらしい比較的均等なハンマリングに加え、いわゆる「クラスターハンマー」様なやや深めのハンドハンマリング痕が随所に見られ、個体としてもかなりハンマリングに特徴があるように感じられます。

また、ウェイトも3234gで26インチとしては比較的軽量で、大口径らしくピング音には安定感がありますが、クラッシュするとシンバル全体が震え、非常に壮大な響きと豊かな倍音が楽しめます。 基本のAらしい明るい響きに加え、やや複雑なハンマリングにより
オールドKのようなリッチな響きで、他のAシリーズとはかなり印象が異なる個体で、当時いろいろ試行錯誤された物なのか、特注として製作されたのかは不明ですが、26インチというサイズはかなり珍しいサイズでもあり、オールドAの中でもかなり複雑な響き方の個体に感じます。

残念ながら、センターホールは5mm程度のキーホールになっていますが、現状ダメージを感じる削れ方では有りません。
指紋くすみや、エッジの若干ざらつきや、僅かな変形のある箇所もありますが、80年近く昔のシンバルですので、この程度のダメージで残っていてくれただけで十分、この年式のシンバルとしては十分なコンディションで、サウンドは別格。
素晴らしい波動を感じる様な壮大な鳴りですが、適度に枯れていて、落ち着きがあり非常に上品です。

AジルでもKジルでも無い「個性」が光る、超激レアな26インチのオールドAです。
