The APX1200, a highly acclaimed professional model of the Yamaha electric acoustic guitar with its all veneer body and SRT pickups that deliver studio-quality sound, has undergone a detailed review and has been redesigned as a guitar with even higher levels of perfection. The APX1200 has undergone a model change.
The newly developed "SRT" system reproduces even the shimmering air of a recording studio.

Features of the SRT pickup system
With the newly developed "SRT" system, you can create a sound as if you were recording in a studio by selecting a microphone from three types of professional-grade microphones and choosing its position from two types.
There are a total of six setting patterns. In addition, you can mix the sound of the piezo pickups with the microphone sound (BLEND knob), control the guitar's resonance (RESONANCE knob), and create other detailed and individualized sounds.

You can use different microphones according to the sound you want based on the data actually created by professional engineers using high-end microphones in recording studios. The data was recorded using the following three vintage microphones.

Type 1: Neumann U67
Vintage condenser microphone represented by Neumann U67. It has a wide frequency range and dynamic response, and can be used for all kinds of techniques and phrases. It is especially suitable for strokes and rock.

Type 2: Neumann KM56
Vintage condenser mic represented by Neumann KM56.
The high frequency range is delicate and smooth, and is recommended for arpeggios, ballads, fingerpicking, etc.

Type 3: Royer R-122
A modern ribbon mic as represented by the Royer R-122. Soft response, gentle treble, fat and warm tone, and comfortable tone even with hard picking. Recommended for jazz/blues type of music.
You can choose whether to set the mic close to a professional setting guitar or a little further away from it as well.

FOCUS
On-mic setting (microphone set 20-30 cm away from the guitar). This setting produces a fat, bouncy, and crisp sound that clearly captures the resonance of the strings and body, and is suitable for all kinds of playing techniques and phrases.

WIDE
This setting combines the on-mic sound with an off-mic (microphone set several meters away from the guitar). It adds a natural air resonance that is close to the sound heard by the human ear. Recommended for solo guitar and guitar ensembles.
The guitar's body resonance can be freely adjusted.
The RESONANCE knob allows you to adjust the guitar's body resonance. Center is standard. The more you turn the knob to the right, the stronger the fretting sound becomes. Turn the knob to the left to suppress the fretting sound to prevent feedback.
* The RESONANCE knob only affects the mic sound.

Combination with Pickup Sound
The SRT-equipped model is equipped with the newly developed "SRT pickup" that has a piezoelectric element (piezo) built into the saddle. The SRT pickups offer outstanding response, stable resonance, high sound quality, and rich expressiveness. By mixing the sound of this pickup with the microphone sound, you can create a precise and unique sound.
