We have a 1971 Martin D-18 in stock!
It's a typical model of Martin guitars along with the D-28.
Wood materials include spruce top, mahogany sides and back, mahogany neck, fingerboard and bridge, and rosewood bridge plate. It has a non-adjustable SQ rod and original PATENT PEND engraved Grover pegs. As a minor detail, the backstrip is still a straight wood strip in this year.
It is well-balanced from high to low, making it versatile enough to handle everything from flatpicking to fingerpicking, and the bright sound typical of mahogany is still there.
The vintage guitars tend to focus on the 60's, but don't overlook this vintage guitar which has a subdued tone. This guitar has the volume of a dreadnought, of course, but it also has the bluesy sound of the 70's.

There are weather checks all over the body.
There are scratches and dings scattered throughout the guitar, with more scratches from the right side of the front to the bottom.
There is a 20cm gap at the neck of the body back binding on the first string side, but it is not peeled off.
There is a bump on the center of the back of the body, but there is no need to worry about it because of course there is bracing on the back side.
There are numerous chips in the wood on the upper edge of the back of the head.
There is a Martin crack along the pickguard line, two cracks on the 6th string side of the body side, between the fingerboard and the top of the sound hole, and from the bottom of the bridge to the body end. There are some visible glue residue from the gluing repair from the bottom of the bridge to the end of the body.
The bridge pin has been replaced, the pickguard has been replaced, and the bracing on the back of the body has been repaired (in two places).
The neck is in good condition, and the frets are about 40-50% full.
The string height is set at 2.5 to 2.6 cm on the 6th string (12F) and 1.9 to 2.0 cm on the 1st string (12F), which is in good playing condition. The remaining saddle height is 1.0mm on the 6th string side and 1.0mm on the 1st string side.
The metal parts of the pegs are slightly dull on the sides of the body, but the back and knobs are shining.
The case comes with a black case with brown interior. The interior is partially peeling and there is some rust on the metal parts, but there are no problems with normal use.
There are some cracks and peeling marks on various parts as proof of its long history, but the past owner has repaired and cared for all parts, so you can use this guitar with confidence.

Neck condition is fine.
Truss rod is non-adjustable.

D-28と並ぶマーチンギターの代表的なモデルですね。
トップ材にスプルース、サイド・バック材はマホガニー、マホガニーネック、指板とブリッジ、ブリッジプレートはローズウッドといったウッドマテリアル。ノンアジャスタブル SQロッドにオリジナルのPATENT PEND刻印入りグローバーペグを搭載しております。細かい部分ですが、この年はまだバックストリップがストレートウッドストリップです。
ハイからローまでバランスが良く、フラットピッキングからフィンガーピッキングまでこなしてくれる万能型になっており、マホガニーらしいブライトなサウンドは健在です。
また、ヴィンテージギターと言えば60年代に目がいきがちですが、渋くて落ち着いたトーンを保有しているこの辺りの年代も見逃してはいけません。これぞドレッドノートといった音量はもちろんの事、70年代ならではのブルージーなサウンドを演出してくれます！

ボディ全体にウェザーチェックがございます。
各所キズや打コンが点在しており、ギター正面に見て右側から下部にかけてキズが多くなっております。
ボディバックバインディング1弦側くびれの部分に約20cmの段差がございますが、剥がれてはいません。
ボディバックセンターに段差がございますが、もちろん裏側にブレーシングがございますので心配不要です。
ヘッド裏上部エッジに木部の欠けが多数確認できます。
ピックガードのラインに沿って割れるマーチンクラック、ボディサイドくびれ6弦側、サウンドホール上部指板との間に2箇所、ブリッジ下部からボディエンドにかけてクラックがございますが、過去のオーナー様が割れ止めをあてがうリペアを行なっております。ブリッジ下部からボディエンドにかけての接着リペアを行った際の接着剤がはみ出た跡がやや目立ちます。
ブリッジピン交換、ピックガード交換、ボディバックのブレーシング(2箇所)にリペア歴がございます。
ネックは概ね状態良好、フレットは4?5割程の残り、当店にて擦り合わせを行なっているため目立つ凹みもなくコンディションは整えております。
弦高は12F6弦側約2.5?2.6cm、1弦側約1.9?2.0cmにセッティングされており、プレイアコンディション良好です。サドル高残は6弦側約1.0mm、1弦側約1.0mmとなっております。
金属パーツであるペグは本体側面に若干のくすみがあるものの、背面やツマミは輝きを放っております。
ケースは内装がブラウンのブラックケースが付属しております。内装に一部剥がれ、金属部にサビが目立ちますが通常ご使用いただくにあたって問題ございません。
歴戦の証である割れ跡や剥がれ跡が各所にございますが、過去のオーナー様がどの部分も修理、お手入れを行なっているためこれから安心してお使いいただける1本になっております。
