Based on Yamaha's iconic SG, this model features the letters TAKANAKA and palm trees scattered on the body top. The body is maple top and mahogany back. The neck is a 3pcs mahogany/maple/mahogany through-neck construction. The scale is 628mm and the fingerboard surface is ebony. 628mm PU is original, but the original active control has been eliminated to make this model passive, and the Vol & Tone pots have also been replaced. The center and right side of the rear PU have a 7cm cloud-shaped paint correction mark, and there is no "Made in Japan" serial number on the head, so it may have been refinished only in clear. The tremolo unit is an RM-PROIII, and the tremolo fixing imo screws are missing. The tone knob has been replaced.

There are scratches, scuffs, line scratches, and dents on the body. The upper right portion of the rear PU has a fine cloudy picking scratch. The body top is dotted with large and small dents. Inside the tremolo cavity, there are some paint peeling and hit scratches where the unit was hit. There are scratches on the right side of the body where the body was hit by accessories, and large and small dents are scattered around the lower part of the side. The back panel of the body has scratches from buckles, and there are large and small dents scattered around the back panel. The lower edge of the body is also dotted with flakes of paint the size of a grain of rice, and there are also scratches. On the back of the neck, there is a pea-sized ding on the back of the 3rd string on the 6th fret, and there are other dings of various sizes scattered around. The back of the head has some paint peeling, dings, and scratches. The plating is peeling on the upper right side of the rear PU, and there is also some plating peeling on the escutcheon area due to picking. There is also some peeling of plating on the saddles due to playing. The battery cavity panel is cracked due to tightening. The word "Takanaka" on the truss rod cover is almost gone.

The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod can be adjusted in the tightening and loosening direction, and can still be turned in the tightening direction. The frets are about 40-50% full, with no noticeable string marks. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.

Overall, there are some refinishing, buckle scratches, and chrome peeling on the clear parts, and there is a sense of use commensurate with the age of the instrument. The guitar has been passivated, so it is less original, and it is more for fans to play than for collectors to collect. The frets are a little low, but playability is ensured!

Neck condition is fine.
The truss rod can be adjusted in the direction to tighten or loosen, and can still be turned to tighten and adjust.
Fretboard has about 40-50% remaining.
