The NB5 is the flagship model of Sugi's proud high-end bass series.
This model combines the careful workmanship that can only be achieved by handmade in Japan with the excellent sound of carefully selected woods.
Ash is used for the body, and it has both rich mid-low range and clear high range. It features a well-balanced tone and is suitable for a wide range of playing styles, from slapping to fingerpicking. The neck with an ebony fingerboard produces a smooth playing feel and a clear attack, and even though it is a 5-string design, the contours of the bass strings stand out clearly.
The pickups are Sugi's original passive type. It produces a natural, three-dimensional tone without unnecessary coloration and responds precisely to the player's touch. The 35" scale low B string with a sense of tension makes a strong presence in an ensemble.
