11-2800005164473
USED Art Tech / ST Type Red [11]
We’ve received a shipment of custom guitars featuring necks from Art Tech, a completely handmade guitar brand known only to connoisseurs.
Art Tech is a guitar workshop based in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, and other locations, specializing in building and repairing guitars primarily for professional musicians.
Since the guitar we’ve received features the signature of its builder, Mr. Sugiura, on the headstock, there’s no doubt the neck is an Art Tech original. However, given that the body is made of four pieces and there’s a slight gap at the neck pocket, and the pickup cavity is rectangular (the so-called “bento box” cutout), it’s possible that an alder body from another manufacturer was paired with it. Additionally, since the finish covers the traces of a filled-in strap pin hole on the 6th-string horn of the body back, it appears the body has been refinished.

The pickups are made by Fender Custom Shop, though the model number is unknown; the pots are made by CTS.
The soft V-shaped neck features the meticulous finish characteristic of handmade instruments; the oil finish provides a pleasant feel, while the carefully chamfered fretboard edges and rounded fret edges ensure smooth playability.
There are scattered fine scratches and dents throughout the body, and the hardware shows some tarnish.
There are burn marks at the base of the headstock, discoloration on the neck grip due to use, and the position marks on the fingerboard have peeled off.
Although it shows some signs of use, it has been fully serviced and cleaned at our repair center, and playability is excellent.
Condition Grade: B: Shows significant scratches and signs of wear, but is suitable for normal use

Year of Manufacture: 1985
Country of Manufacture: Japan
Case: Non-original hard case
Accessories: Tonearm
Weight: 3.31 kg
Truss Rod: Note: The truss rod is completely loose; currently, there are no issues with the neck
Fret Wear: Within normal range; fret height is sufficient for playing
String Height (Low String Side): 2.0 mm at the 12th fret
String Action (Treble Side): 1.5 mm at the 12th fret
Nut width: 40.2 mm
Neck thickness near the 1st fret: 20.4 mm
Neck thickness near the 12th fret: 23.4 mm
Scale: 648 mm (25.5")
RADIUS: 305 mm (12")
Strings at Setup: D'Addario EXL120 / .009-.042 set
Repairs and Maintenance: Cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, action adjustment

* As this is a used item, there may be scratches, dents, and other imperfections that are not clearly visible in the photos or not listed here.
