An early 1970s ES-175D is now in stock. It has a 3-piece mahogany neck without volute, a MADE IN USA stamped serial number in the 100000s, and double-ring Crewson pegs with GIBSON DELUXE stamp. Both front and rear pickups are numbered PAF. The control pots are in a metal case and are soldered, so the pot dates have not been checked, but they have probably not been replaced. The knobs are the sombrero knobs used in this period, but only the rear tone has been replaced with a non-original metal plate. The label inside the hole is black/white/purple square, and the tailpiece is a chrome trapeze-type trapeze tailpiece with three square quadrilateral reliefs on the left and right sides. Although it is a full acoustic, it has a clear tone and the bass is clear without being muffled. The ES-175 is often used for jazz, but it is also loved by various rock guitarists including Steve Howe of YES, and can be used for a wide range of styles. This instrument is a must-try for guitarists who are looking for a crisp full acoustic sound.

The overall paint is still glossy, but there are some minor scratches and dings scattered throughout the body, and the binding on the cutaway portion of the body back is slightly peeling. There is a chip on the tip of the head and a scuff on the top of the head, and the 4th string peg is slightly bent, but there are no problems with tuning. The frets are worn out, but we did not replace them to keep the originality of the instrument. All parts have been maintained and cleaned, so there are no playability issues. Original hard case and pick guard are missing, but a RITTER gig case is included.
