In the mid-1950s, Billy Byrd and Hank Garland, who were active in Nashville, wanted a guitar suitable for "modern guitar styles" that could handle faster fingerings, position changes, and advanced chord work. For them, Gibson created the "Byrdland," which was named after the two Byrdland players and was released in 1955.

Based on Gibson's top-of-the-line full-acoustic model, the L-5, the Byrdland features a thinline body that is 2 1/4 inches thick, making it easy to hold and improve playability.
A short scale (597mm) and slim neck are also adopted for superior playability.

Two 57 Classic pickups are mounted on this full acoustic, which is a perfect match for the hollowbody and produces a sweet and mellow jazz tone.
The pickguard has been deformed due to age and is partially lifted.
Overall, there are many fine scratches and minor dings, and the topcoat is slightly yellowed.
The topcoat is slightly yellowed. Although there are some signs of use, each part has been maintained and cleaned at our repair center, and the playability is good.
