Hummingbird with double X-bracing in its folk heyday!"

This is a Hummingbird made in 1974-1975, the heyday of Japanese folk music. The model name at that time was Hummingbird Custom. It features block inlays, down belly bridge, double X bracing, rotomatic pegs, and 3-point truss rod cover.
Dents, scratches, cloudy paint, and dull metal parts can be seen, but the appearance is commensurate with its age. The neck is in proper condition, with about 45 degrees of room for the truss rod to be tightened, and about 70% of the fret height remains.
The neck was not angled, but the bridge was probably shaved to lower the string height. The current string height at the 12th fret is approximately 2.5mm on the 6th string side and 2.1mm on the 1st string side, which is a low setting for a product of this period. The tension of the strings is still maintained to some extent, and both playability and sound are perfect.
The response is tight, as is typical of a double X brace, but the resonance is also bold and dynamic, as is typical of a Gibson. The hard case may be genuine, but it does not have the Gibson emblem. This is a recommended one.

「フォーク全盛時のダブルXブレーシングのハミングバード！」

和製フォーク全盛時と言える1974年-1975年製のハミング・バードです。この当時のモデル名はハミングバード・カスタムでした。ブロック・インレイ、ダウンベリー・ブリッジ、ダブルXブレース、ロトマティック・ペグ、3点留めトラス・ロッド・カバーなどが特徴です。
打痕、引っ掻き傷、塗膜の曇り、金属部品のくすみが確認できますが、年式相応の外観と言えるでしょう。ネックの状態は適正で、トラスロッドの締め方向の余裕は45度程度あり、フレットの高さは7割前後残っています。
ネック仕込み角度がつけられていない時期の個体ですが、おそらくブリッジを削って弦高を下げたのでしょう。現在の12フレットの弦高は6弦側で約2.5mm、1弦側で約2.1mmとなっており、この当時の製品としては低めのセッティングとなっております。それでいて弦のテンション感はある程度維持されており、演奏性、サウンドともに申し分ありません。
ダブルXブレースらしいタイトなレスポンスですが、ギブソンらしい骨太で豪快なレゾナンスも十分持ち合わせています。ハード・ケースは純正の可能性がありますが、Gibsonのエンブレムがついておりません。お勧めの一本です。
