F-12 is a copy model of Gibson F-5 made by Yasuo Kosakabe of Fuji Gengakuji (now Fujigen), based on F-10 with violin finish. This model has dot inlays.
There is a mark where the neck was broken near the body joint. It is firmly glued and the paint has been repaired, but there is still a bump at the joint. The truss rod is fully tight. The neck has a slight forward warp and a tendency to bow out. Currently, the string height at the 12th fret is about 2.0 mm on both the 1-course and 4-course sides, but when the saddle is lowered, there is a tendency for the strings to stick slightly in the low portion of the fretboard.
The top near the cutaway is noticeably worn, and there are also dents, scratches, peeling paint, a chip on the butt end of the back side of the head, a chip on the lower body corner of the top binding, some wear on the frets, and dulling of the plating on metal parts. The peg shaft on the fourth string is bent, but this does not interfere with tuning.
The appearance shows that the guitar has been played a lot, but it has grown up reasonably well. This is a Japan Vintage, and as you would expect from Blue Bell, it has something to make you think. The price is reasonable. The case has stickers of the Takarazuka festival in 1977, the 4th Hakone festival, and the nostalgic Shinjuku Wishbon festival. It is a piece with a sense of history.
