USED Martin / D-41 made in 1979 [03]

A mellow sound! 70's vintage D-41!"

This is a non-scalloped bracing, square rod, blue case D-41.
The D-41 was introduced as a lower-priced version of the D-45, but it has been gaining attention in recent years for its elegant tone, which is similar to that of the D-45, and its moderate volume that accompanies singing, making it easy to handle. In fact, Offkourse, Jerry Beckley (USA), Dan Vogelberg, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, and many other artists, singers, and songwriters who value singing have used this instrument.
This particular instrument was made in 1979. There are some dents, scratches, and weather checks throughout, but they are commensurate with the age of the instrument. The pegs have been replaced with Grover pegs made in recent years, and then returned to the original Grover pegs (made in the USA), and there is some peeling of the paint film around the washers on the head surface. Some tarnishing has occurred on metal parts.
There are traces of Martin crack correction, and the pickguard has been newly reupholstered at our affiliated repair store. The surface has been painted, so the original atmosphere has not been lost. The pickguard has been refretted and the saddle has been replaced. There is a crack repair mark on the side of the bass string, and the fingerboard above the first fret has a mark where a worn spot was filled in and corrected. There are marks on both sides of the saddle where embedded pickups were installed, as well as marks on the inside of the body where undersaddle pickups were installed and oversize end pins were attached. There is also a strap pin attached to the heel of the neck.
The neck is in fair condition, and the frets are slightly worn, but over 80% of the fret height remains, and the guitar plays and sounds great. 12th fret height is approximately 3.0mm on the 6th string and 2.0mm on the 1st string, but there is some room at the saddle height.
As is typical of 70's vintage Martins, the resonance is moderately withering and gives a sense of depth and power. The non-scalloped bracing has a gentle and supple sound with rounded edges. The solid Avalon inlays used in each part of the instrument give it a subdued brilliance that makes it a pleasure to own. The accompanying blue case is in relatively good condition, with no distortion and no missing tacks, hardware, or handles.
Vertical logo, 40's Martin is a status symbol for guitar fans that inspires romance. Although vintage, this item is relatively affordable at close to the price of a current new one. Don't miss this opportunity.
