It rings! Player's Condition D-41!"

This is a 1975 D-41 with a non-scalloped brace and square rod. It looks like it has seen a hundred battles, but it has been properly maintained and has developed a reasonable sound. It plays well.
There are dings, scratches, belt buckle scuffs, Martin crack repair, pickguard replacement, bridge reattachment, touch-up around bridge, crack repair on lower left side of back, weather check, paint deterioration and stains, dull peg plating, bridge plate repair, and neck The fret board, nut, and saddle have been replaced. The paint film on the edge of the abalone where the elbow meets the neck has deteriorated more noticeably than other parts of the instrument. The pegs have been replaced with Grovers, which were made in Asia, and the L.R. Baggs Element pickups and neck heel strap pins have been retrofitted.
The neck is in fair condition, with very little fret edge, and both playability and sound are perfect; string height at the 12th fret is approximately 2.7mm on the 6th string side and 2.0mm on the 1st string side. The saddle height is generous.
It comes with a blue case, but it has cracks, missing hardware, and other damage.
The non-scalloped brace has a thick core, but it is also mellow. The soft and elegant tone makes us think that this is indeed a 40th model. Volume and sustain are ample, and the balance from treble to bass is good. We recommend this model to those who are looking for a good sound.
