The Wren and Cuff UB-STONE FUZZ is the signature model of guitarist Shinichi Ikuta, who has played with ELLEGARDEN, Nothing's Carved In Stone, and solo.

In April 2022, a project was initiated to recreate a 1967 Vox Tone Bender owned by Shinichi Ikugata. This vintage Tone Bender had a different tone than many of the tone benders Wren and Cuff had been exposed to. Wren and Cuff were so impressed with this pedal that they decided to recreate its sound. Wren and Cuff and Shinichi Ikuta were both satisfied with the result.

Fuzz pedals are often associated with classic rock, grunge, and shoegaze. Of course, the effectiveness of fuzz in those genres is unquestionable, and it goes without saying that those sounds are great.

However, fuzz pedals are not only useful in those iconic genres.

Fuzz pedals are also very effective in modern rock sounds. Shinichi Ikuta's work and sound are proof of this.

The UB-STONE FUZZ perfectly captures the characteristics of the vintage Tone Bender used by Shinichi Ikuta, so it is easy to use in the iconic fuzz genres as well as in modern rock. It is easy to use and produces the best sound not only in the iconic fuzz genre, but also in modern rock.

Finally, add the LOW-CUT knob that Shinichi Ikuta likes on his Wren and Cuff Your Face, and the UB-STONE FUZZ is complete.

With ease of operation in the real world in mind, the UB-STONE FUZZ is the result of Wren and Cuff's handiwork that perfectly captures the vintage sound while achieving even greater perfection.

Wren and Cuff UB-STONE FUZZは、ELLEGARDEN、Nothing’s Carved In Stone、ソロでも活躍するギタリスト生形真一氏のシグネイチャーモデルです。

2022年4月、生形真一氏の所有する1967年製Vox Tone Benderを再現するプロジェクトが始まりました。このヴィンテージTone BenderはWren and Cuffがこれまで触れた多くのトーンベンダーとは異なる音色でした。軽いゲートがかかり、スポンジのようなトーンと、上下にかすかなオクターブが混ざるような太い音色です。Wren and Cuffはこのペダルに感銘を受け、そのサウンドを再現することにしました。2年にわたるプロトタイプの制作や意見交換を行い、Wren and Cuffと生形真一氏が満足するペダルに仕上がりました。

ファズペダルは、どうしてもクラシックロックやグランジ、シューゲイザーなどのイメージがあります。もちろん、それらのジャンルにおけるファズの有効性は疑うまでもありませんし、それらのサウンドが素晴らしいことは言うまでもありません。

しかし、ファズペダルが活躍するのはそれらの象徴的なジャンルだけではありません。

現代的なロックサウンドでも、ファズペダルはとても有効です。生形真一氏の活躍とサウンドは、それを証明しています。
