Suhr Guitars' Standard Plus is a standard model with versatility for any genre or style of playing.

The body is a dinky shape with flame maple top and basswood back. The combination of the body is known as John Suhr's best choice, and is characterized by its easy handling without any peculiarities, extended sustain, and good drive.

The neck is made of roasted maple and the fingerboard is Perferro. The roasted neck is a key factor in the stability of the neck in Japan, where the seasons change dramatically.

Even C Slim .800"-.880" neck grip, 10"-14" inch compound fingerboard radius, and stainless steel heavy frets. Moderately rounded, non-habitual neck grip that is easy to handle regardless of playing style. High-precision stainless steel frets provide a smooth playing feel. Compound fingerboard, which is becoming a standard for modern guitars, has an ideal radius for each position, allowing for lower string height settings without interfering with string vibration.

Hardware includes a steel sustain block, Gotoh 510 2-Point bridge with solid block saddles, and Suhr Locking pegs. The block saddles provide extended sustain and a good, clean sound with a good sense of separation. Smooth arming and tuning stability, as well as smooth string changes, make this an attractive "easy-to-handle" configuration.

Pickups are V60 front/center and SSH+ rear. The single coil is equipped with Suhr's classic V60. We disassembled and analyzed the individual vintage pickups, which have the best sound among all the vintage pickups. The pickups use the same magnets and hand-wound pattern as those of the era, giving the guitar a fat, sticky sound with the edge characteristic of the 60's. The rear hum has a high-power "SSH+" coil.

The rear hum is equipped with a high-power "SSH+". It is characterized by a high output, yet clearly contoured sound with rich expressiveness. It features a zesty and pleasant crispness even when high-gain drive is used, as well as a good disconnection.

The controls are simple, with a 5-way lever switch for PU selection, M.Volume/M.Tone, and a Push-Push Tone switch for coil-tapping the rear hum.

The SSCII is also equipped with a unique hum noise reduction system that does not require batteries. The clear, noiseless sound is effective not only for output from an amplifier, but also for line recording.
