The B12S, up-dated from the QUAD BASS used by Tom Peterson in 1978, is a 30" short scale bass that was manufactured in the 1990s.
The B12M is a medium scale B12 with the same body shape, the B12L is a long scale version with a very different body design, and the B12A is a hollowbody B12.
The lineup was more numerous than one might imagine. In other words, HAMER was a rare pioneer of the 12-string bass.

The body is made of laminated flame maple with a maple wing, and the neck is made of three layers of hard maple.
The pickups are EMG's "HB" pickups, which were overwhelmingly popular with many players at the time, and they reproduce the sparkling sound of the secondary strings with the wide range and realism only possible with EMG pickups. The tone circuit is equipped with EMG's "EXB" expander circuit, which boosts the bass and treble simultaneously while cutting the middle by turning the knob, producing a powerful sound.

The condition of the neck is worrisome due to its high tension, but the previous owner said that there is no problem at all and the truss rod has never been adjusted.
The previous owner has never adjusted the truss rod. The two truss rods protect the neck from the strong tension.
There are almost no major scratches, and considering it is from the 90's, it can be said to be a very beautiful instrument.

There is a story that it was used in METALLICA's Black Album, and the B12S model has played an important role not only in the history of electric basses, but also in the history of rock music.
