STATUS GRAPHITE S-2 made in 1986, early model in stock!

This is a very rare early model of S-2, which has the beauty and aura of a chemical reaction between two seemingly mismatched but opposing materials, combining exotic woods with carbon graphite, which at that time was beginning to be used for instruments as an advanced material.

The top is Bubinga, which also has a beautiful grain, the cherry veneer is bright red on point, and the back is ash, which is as fast and galloping in sound as graphite.

The headpiece, the most iconic part of the instrument, is made of carefully finished brass and can be used with either double-ball or single-ball strings.
The bridge and tuners on the other side are also made of finely finished brass, and the old logo on the bridge plate seems to indicate the difference in status.
The back panel is also made of brass, indicating that more time and effort were put into finishing it than in recent years.
The battery box also has traces of a square sticker, indicating that it was handled by Kanda Shokai, the Japanese distributor at that time.

There is some paint peeling on the neck side above the frets, but other than that, there are no other paint problems.

The circuit had been removed and a new one installed, but the original circuit was intact, so we succeeded in putting it back in. The volume pot was replaced, but the sound is still the same as the original.
The Green Machine Technology (GMT) logo is on the top of the knob and on the pickup cover, which is also a characteristic of the early models. (Only the volume knob is missing the original.)

The headless design and the revolutionary use of graphite as a material, etc., made the Steinberger and the Status Graphite a classic instrument that has moved the history of electric basses.
The Status Graphite S-2 is a masterpiece that has moved the history of electric basses together with Steinberger.

1986年製　STATUS GRAPHITE S-2 初期モノが入荷

当時先進的な素材として楽器に使用され始めたカーボングラファイトに、エキゾチックウッドを組み合わせるという、一見ミスマッチに見えるものの、相反する素材同士の化学反応的な美しさとオーラを持つ S-2 の激レア初期モノです。

トップには木目も美しいブビンガ、チェリーのベニアは明るいレッドがポイントになっており、バックにはグラファイト同様に音の速さと疾走感をもつアッシュが使用されています。

当機の最も象徴的である(ヘッドレス部の)ヘッドピースは丁寧に仕上げられたブラス製で、ダブルボール、シングルボールどちらの弦でもでも使用できる構造。
また反対側のブリッジ及びチューナー部も精巧に仕上げられたブラス製、そしてブリッジプレートの旧ロゴが格(ステイタス)の違いを表しているかのようです。
バックパネルもすべてブラス製で近年のものよりも手間をかけて仕上げていたことが伺えます。
またバッテリーボックスには四角いシールの痕跡が残されており、当時の日本代理店であった神田商会の取り扱いであったことがわかります。

ネックサイドのフレット上に塗装の剥離が見受けられますが、それ以外にこれといった塗装のトラブルは見られません。

一度サーキットは外され別のものが搭載されていましたが、オリジナル回路は無事であったため、もとに戻すことに成功しました。その際ボリュームポットは交換しましたが、音自体はオリジナルのままとなっております。
プックアップカバーとノブのトップには Green Machine Technology (GMT) ロゴ入りでこれも初期モノの特徴です。(ボリュームつまみのみオリジナル欠品です)

ヘッドレスそしてグラファイトを使用した素材革命など、スタインバーガーとともにエレクトリックベースの
