We are pleased to announce the arrival of a 1981 ES-335.

Since its birth in 1958, the company's popular semi-acoustic model has undergone various changes.
The 1981 ES-335 has been changed to vintage specs in an effort to return to its roots in response to calls for the sound of the early 3335s from the specs used up until the 1970s.

The head shape was changed from large to small. The volute on the neck has been eliminated and replaced with a smooth finish.
The nut width is 43mm, slim but with moderate thickness for easy gripping.

Both pickups are original with engraved numbered PAF. The pegs are also equipped with original milk bottles.
The sticker inside the F-hole also confirms that it is made in Kalamazoo.

The model name on the sticker is marked as ES-335 DOT, and since DOT was introduced in late 1981 as a successor of ES-335TD, we know this one is also a late 1981 model.

The frets have been replaced from the original, and the nut is also believed to have been replaced instead of the original.
It is in good playing condition, and has been overhauled for long use, indicating that it has been cared for.

This is a unique example from this transitional period, when a variety of specifications existed. Recommended for those who are looking for a vintage 335 that can be obtained without hesitation.

1981年製ES-335が入荷いたしました。

1958年の誕生以来、様々な変化を遂げてきた同社の人気セミアコースティックモデル。
入荷した81年製は70年代までの仕様から初期の3335のサウンドを求める声から 原点回帰を目指し、ビンテージを意識したスペックへと変更されています。

ヘッドシェイプはラージからスモールに。 ネックに施されていたボリュートは廃され、滑らかな加工に変更。
ナット幅約43㎜のスリムながらも適度な太さのある握りやすいシェイプとなっています。

ピックアップはどちらもオリジナルで刻印ナンバードPAFを搭載。ペグもオリジナルのミルクボトルと搭載。
Fホール内のステッカーよりカラマズー製であることも確認できます。

ステッカー上のモデル名はES-335 DOTと表記されており、それまでのES-335TDの後継機としてDOTが登場するのが81年の後期からの為、こちらの個体も81年後期のモデルである事が判明しています。

フレットはオリジナルから交換されており、ナットもオリジナルではなく交換されたものと思われます。
演奏コンディションは良好で、長く使うためのオーバーホールを施し、大切にされてきた事が伺えます。

過渡期の為、様々な仕様が存在するこの時期ならではの1本です。気負わずに手に入れられるビンテージ335をお探しの方にオススメです。
