USED YAMAHA / SG-2000 RS (Red Sunburst) 1976 [4.60 kg / Manufactured in 1976]

The legendary Yamaha SG2000, introduced in 1976, is a model from its first year of production, 1976.

Based on the pickup markings and serial number, it was manufactured in 1976 (Showa 51). The maple and mahogany neck features a through-neck construction with a T-cross maple top. It has a maple top, mahogany back, and ebony fingerboard. The pickups are original (front: 51.7.15 / rear: 51.7.20).It does not feature the Bi-Sound system (which was standard on the SG-1000 and SG-800 models in 1976). It has a sustain plate under the die-cast bridge and gold hardware.

Characterized by the Yamaha SG series’ sweet, lustrous, and tight long sustain, this is a player’s condition instrument that still has plenty of life left in it.

The pickguard is missing, and there are signs of wear (minor scratches, scuffs, wear marks, picking marks, discoloration, tarnish, pitting, and rust on metal parts and screws, etc.). The leather on the exterior of the hard case is peeling.

Set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, and string height adjustment). The frets are at a height suitable for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted in both directions (tightening and loosening); it has been tested to operate up to ±60° with no issues.
