USED Fender USA / 1979 Stratocaster Black [10]

We now have a 1979 Strat in black with heavy ash body/maple fretboard!

The strap pins have been replaced with locking pins (missing locking pin parts), some pickup height adjustment screws have been replaced, and the ground shield has been replaced by the previous owner. The serial number on the neck end is almost gone, but we can determine that it was made in 1979 from the serial code on the front of the head.
There is a sticker on the back of the pickguard with the same serial number as the head. The pickups can be confirmed to be made in 1979 from their dates. Although there is no date on the body, the neck pocket shape, narrow back contour, rounded pickup cavity, and other features suggest that the pickups are from about the same period as the neck.

The entire setup and nut have been replaced at a repair store. There are some scratches, scuffs, and dings, and the neck joint has been refinished with a small amount of wood exposed at the edge. The body has few noticeable damages, but there are some age-appropriate dents dotted around the neck. The hardware is a little dull and rusty, but there are no operational problems. The frets are about 50% full with some string marks. The neck condition is a little wavy, so the string height is currently adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.6mm on the 1st string side. The truss rod can be turned 90 degrees in the direction of tightening.

Neck condition: No major problems in playing.
There is enough room for the truss rod.
About 50% frets remaining.
String height on the 12th fret: 6th string side: approx. 2.0mm, 1st string side: approx. 1.6mm
