USED EPIPHONE / Late 1920s Recording B [05]

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a very rare museum-quality item, an Epiphone brand "Recording B", which is believed to have been produced in very small quantities between 1928 and 1931. We have determined that it was made in 1928 based on several documents and materials.
Epiphone, a well-known banjo maker in New York at the time, released the Recording series for jazz and proust players. It features a unique body shape with boldly cut treble sides and a pearloid face banjo head with a leaf design.
Spruce top, 3-ply figured (bird's eye) maple back (arched), 25" scale, body width is about 14-1/8" (35.5cm), body thickness is about 3-7/8" (9.8cm). 3-piece maple neck, nut width is about 44mm. Neck is 3-piece maple neck, nut width is about 44mm, and the neck shape is thin "C" shape.
The bridge is probably the original rosewood bridge glued to the top (the saddle is not fixed to the bridge).
There are some cracks on each side of the fingerboard on the top of the body and at the center of the top near the bottom of the bridge. The head perloid veneer was warped significantly at the time of purchase, so it has been glued and the gap has been filled. There are other external damage commensurate with the age of the instrument.
The neck is in excellent condition, with a lot of original warping and forward warping, and unfortunately, the playability is not good enough. The guitar was originally designed to be played in the low position or with a bottleneck to enjoy the blues.
This vintage guitar is not for players, but it is very rare item that you may not find it in the future.
