Fender Masterbuilt Series 1969 Stratocaster is now in stock.

The maker is Jason Smith, the son of Dan Smith, one of the most important figures in the Fender company and the inventor of the Smith Strat.

He has been a part of the Fender family since he was a child, and joined Fender when he was growing up.
In 1995, he joined the Custom Shop, where he studied under legendary builder John English for five years before being promoted to Master Builder in 2006. He is one of the builders with the deepest Fender genes.

The just-arrived unit has a large head, 1-piece maple neck/fingerboard with maple cap.
The fretboard is 22 frets with a brim, while the F-Key machine head is based on the 69 Strat.
The pickup layout is SSH, a hybrid spec that also incorporates modern style.
The guitar lacks a certificate of authenticity, but the serial number indicates that it was made in 2011.

The previous owner made a bold modification to the guitar, replacing the nut and frets. The body has been refinished in blue, and the pickups have been replaced with K&T pickups.
Front and center pickups are WATSH TOWER, and rear pickups are FAT-VL-TOPS-WW.
Pickguard, pots, etc. are also changed.

Although the pickups have been changed, the original pickups are still included, which confirms that this guitar was made with SSH layout from the beginning, not with SSH layout by modification.

The original pickups are Abigail hand-wound gray bobbin front/center.
The rear is a Seymour Duncan TB-59B.

The neck and body are each signed by Jason, and the front pickup cavity is stamped JS, confirming that it is definitely a solid Jason creation.

There are some signs of use such as touch-up on some of the fingerboard sides, light paint chips, minor scratches and light dings, but the overall condition is very good and ready to use.

* The size of the rear pickup is different from the original, so there is a gap when the originally mounted pickup is mounted.
