USED Gibson / SJ-200 Antique Natural [2001]

Made in 2001, this is a superbly quilted piece!

The prototype was made in 1937, first shipped as "Super Jumbo" in 1938, renamed "Super Jumbo 200" in 1939, and came into existence as "J-200" in the catalog from 1947, aka King of Flat Tops. The Super Jumbo "SJ-200" was renamed "Super Jumbo 200" in 1939, and was born in 1947 as "J-200" in the catalog.
In the early 1950s, it became known as "SJ-200.
In 1999, it became "SJ-200 Reissue" and appeared as 1950s style with flame maple side/back and Madagascar rosewood fingerboard/bridge.

This is a 2001 model, made at the Montana factory in USA.
It is an all solid super jumbo body with spruce top and gorgeous "quilted maple" side/back. In recent years, quilts with such great grain are rarely seen!
Scalloped X-bracing, mustache bridge, and flower motif engraved pickguard.
Approximately 43.5mm nut width, 25.5" long scale flame maple neck with bound rosewood fingerboard.
* The 2003 catalog still shows a Madagascar Rose fretboard/bridge, so it is assumed that the specs are the same at this time.
The head is equipped with Gold keystone pegs.

After arrival, it has been cleaned, string replaced, rod adjusted, ironed out, rubbed, nut replaced, saddle adjusted, bridge glued, PG reupholstered, and PG pattern rewritten.
The truss rod has been checked to 60 degrees left and right and the frets are still high enough.
There are a few touch-up marks on the head logo.
There are some weather checks and bumps at the heel of the neck (near the heel cap and 10th-14th frets).
There are some paint peeling around the bridge.
There are some color burns, minor dings and scratches, but playability is good!

The sound is dry, crisp, and pleasantly resonant.
