USED Canopus / 6st Lap Steel [10]

Japanese-made lap steel, easy-to-start 6-string specification!

Canopus is a popular Japanese lap steel brand that is no longer manufactured in Japan. This is a 6-string version that is easy for regular guitar players to get started with.
It is thicker and heavier than most lap steel guitars. The material is unknown, but the wood is clearly visible through the peeling paint. The scale is approximately 570mm, the nut width is 55mm, the PU is a single coil, and the controls are Vol, Tone, and a 3-way gain control. The pegs are made by Gotoh. The foot that attaches to the body is missing. Use it on a keyboard stand, table, or, although it is a bit heavy, on your lap for that matter.

There is a clear peeling on the tip of the head by the 3rd string peg. There are large and small dents all over the body, and the paint is peeling at the back edge. There is a scuff on the fingerboard surface from 17F to 22F of the first string.

Overall, there are some dings and paint peeling, but nothing that will ruin the atmosphere. Unfortunately, it does not have a foot, but it has enough nostalgic atmosphere to be a stylish mid-century item if you display it in your room without hesitation! Of course, there are no problems with playing it, so it is ideal for those who want to try lap steel from now on!
