USED Gibson Custom / Tak Matsumoto DC Custom Ebony 2nd Edition 2014 [10]

The 2014 TAK DC is now in stock, featuring a special custom style with no way figured surfacing and a special serial number!

The TAK MATSUMOTO DC series features Gibson's traditional headstock, a carved top body, and an asymmetrical double cutaway, an innovative design. This model is sublimated as "TAK DC Cutom" based on the traditional Les Paul Custom with split diamond inlays, multiple binding, ebony color, gold hardware, mother-of-pearl inlays, and so on. The traditional but new look is shown by the double cut, and it is not only an artist's model, but also a quintessential finish. This is a rich light fretboard model made in 2014. The body is maple top and mahogany back, mahogany neck, and Richlite fingerboard, with AlnicoV Burstbucker 2&3 PU. The strap side of the strap lock pin is blood sunken.

There are wipe scratches, scuffs, line scratches, and dents on the body. There are finger marks and picking scratches on the right side between both PUs with an oval cloudy look. There are scratches around each knob from turning the knobs. The lower edge of the top of the body is dotted with large and small dings, and there is a weather crack on the lower left part. There are scratches and weather cracks on the left side of the body, and there is a line scratch on the lower left part of the body. There are also weather cracks and scratches on the right side of the body, and a ding the size of a grain of rice on the lower right part of the body. There are line scratches and large and small dents around the control panel on the body back, and small dents and scratches near the right neck. The lower right edge of the body back has a ding the size of a grain of rice, and there are also small and large dings around the lower right edge of the body back. The back of the neck has a few scratches and dings, but they are minor and do not affect the playability of the instrument. On the back of the head, there is a paint crack on the top of the 3rd string peg, which is the ear of the head, due to aging. It does not seem to move when force is applied, but only on the surface layer. The top of the head has a weather crack at the top, and there are line scratches from the tips of the strings all over. There is also a small ding on the upper right part of the truss rod. All hardware is gold, so there is no noticeable signs of use, although there is some chipping and smudging.

The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod can be adjusted to tighten or loosen, and can still be turned to tighten and adjust. There are no string marks on the frets and about 80% of the strings are left. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.

Overall, it looks like the guitar was used more as a favorite than a collection instrument. The coloring is ebony, and the glossy finish is also a little bit visible, but there are a few scratches and signs of use. However, considering that it is approximately 10 years old, the condition is commensurate with its age. If you remove the truss rod cover, it will look less like an artist's model, and we highly recommend this guitar to players who seek high playability in the high position on a Les Paul. It is a "usable guitar" that can be played without hesitation due to its feeling of use, and it is also a "cool guitar" that also shows traditional elements.
Also, if you look closely at the top, you will see that the paint has been pulled out to reveal a magnificent figured surface, which is unexpected. The serial number of this guitar is also a miracle year 2014!

Neck condition is fine.
Truss rod can be adjusted in the direction to tighten or loosen, and can still be turned to tighten and adjust.
Fretboard has about 70% remaining.
