This model is somewhat new in the long history of Martin guitars, with 1999 being its first year.
The dreadnought body is made of citrus spruce top, mahogany sides and back, and black micarta fretboard and bridge.
The body top is finished in gloss finish, and the sides and back, neck, and head top are finished in matte satin finish.
The nut width is 42.9mm, the scale is 645mm, and the neck shape is a Modified Low Oval, a modern and slightly thinner shape.
The inside is a hybrid X-frame with force-mechanical wood construction. The scalloped bracing and the elimination of some of the wood reduce the overall mass of the instrument, allowing the body to resonate firmly.
The beckoned pickguard still has the protective sticker on it.
The head has a gold logo and the fingerboard is embedded with dotted position marks. The soundhole ring is made of herringbone, which gives the guitar a traditional look and feel.
It has a gentle tone that is typical of Martin guitars, and is finished with a mild and well-balanced sound with well-defined angles.
This guitar is recommended for those who prefer guitars with side and back made of mahogany.

There are some paint chips on the top of the body, a little cloudy area, and some dents, but there are no fatal dents or cracks. The sides and back also have some paint reaction shine, buckle scratches on the body back, and some minor scratches, but there are no deep scratches or cracks here either.
The string height has been adjusted to the correct value: 12F 6th string side 2.5mm-2.6mm, 1st string side 2.0mm-2.1mm.
The remaining saddle height is approximately 2.3mm on the 6th string side and 1.5mm on the 1st string side. The frets have no noticeable dents and remain at least half height.
The pegs, which are the hardware, have minor scratches, but there are no noticeable tarnish, and they are in good condition.
A strap pin has been retrofitted on the first string side of the heel diagonal portion of the neck.
Many low-priced Martin guitars are made in Mexico, but the 16 series are manufactured in the U.S. at the Nazareth factory. The price was achieved by using bolt-on construction, gloss finish on the top, bracing, fingerboard, and bridge.
It is very attractive to be able to purchase an imported guitar at this price range, which has been rising in price year after year.
The exterior of the guitar has some scratches and paint chips, but it is still playable and in good condition considering the age of the guitar. This is a great opportunity for those who are looking for the Martin sound at a great price.

Neck condition is fine.
The truss rod can be tightened or loosened in both directions.
About 60-70% frets left.
