Mustang made in 1983, Japanese project!

There is no date on the neck end, only "MUSTANG". This is a key point, and from the points mentioned below, it is thought to be one that was ordered and distributed in small quantities by a former Japanese distributor in 1983 due to the growing demand for this instrument in Japan. There are traces of sunburst on the joint part of the body and PU cavity, and from the cutaway tip shape, it is assumed that it was shipped with multi-layered surplus body from the past. The 4-ply pickguard, pickup covers, heptagonal knobs, etc. are also original and made in Japan at that time. There is a crack on the bridge anchor on the first string side, which may have moved the anchor, and the bridge plate is mounted slightly interfering with the anchor. The ground wire there has also been replaced. The frets and nut appear to be original, the nut width is about 41mm in actual size, and the scale is about 610mm.

The body has wipe scratches, scuffs, line scratches, dents, and peeling paint. The pickguard is finely clouded with picking scratches, and there are large and small dents and scratches throughout the body. The neck joint has a bump, as is typical of the 70s, and there are paint cracks on both sides. The back of the body has some buckle scratches and line scratches. The back of the neck has some small dents and scratches, but they do not affect the playability of the instrument. There are some dents and scratches around the head, but nothing that would ruin the atmosphere. The bridge area has some signs of use, but there are no operational problems.

The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod can be adjusted in the direction to tighten or loosen, and can still be turned to tighten and adjust. There are no string marks on the frets and about 50% of the strings are left. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.

Overall, there are some cracks on the anchor part that have been repaired, but there are no problems with normal use. It was made in 1978, but shipped in about 1983. The advertisement at that time was by that famous Japanese guitarist who is a mustang icon. It is good for nostalgic memories of those days. Also, if you are looking for a birthday guitar, this might be a good choice for those who were born in 1978 or 1983, but can't give up on the looks of this guitar.

ネックエンドにデイトの表記はなく『MUSTANG』の表記のみ。ここがポイントで後述する点から、83年に日本の旧代理店が日本での需要の高まりから少量オーダー、流通した一本と思われます。ボディのジョイント部分やPUキャビティにサンバーストの痕跡が残っており、カッタウェイの先端形状から過去の余剰ボディをマルチレイヤーし出荷されたと推測。またそれにセットされた両Potは78年製でオリジナル、ピックアップデイトも78年でオリジナルです。4plyのピックガード、ピックアップカバー、7角形状のノブ等も当時の日本製でオリジナル。ボディはその軽さや様子からバスウッドではないかと思われます。1弦側ブリッジアンカー部分に木部の割れ修正跡があり、それによりアンカーが動いたのか、ブリッジプレートがアンカーと少し干渉してマウントされております。またそこのアース線も交換されております。フレット＆ナットはオリジナルと思われ、ナット幅は実寸で約41mmで、スケールは約610mmです。

ボディには拭きキズ、スリキズ、線キズ、打痕、塗装剥がれがあります。ピックガードには細かく曇った感じでピッキングキズがあり、ボディ全体的に大小打痕やスリキズがあります。ネックジョイント部分には70sらしく段差があり、両脇には塗装クラックがあります。ボディバックには所々バックルキズがあり、線キズもあります。ネック裏には全体的に小さな打痕や当てキズがあるものの、大きくプレイに影響するレベルではありません。ヘッド周りには打痕や当てキズがありますが雰囲気を壊すものはありません。ブリッジ周辺には使用感があるものの動作には問題ありません。

ネックコンディションは問題なく、トラスロッドは締める方向緩める方向に調整可能で、締める方向にまだ回せ調整可能です。フレットには弦跡等は無く残りは5割程です。現状弦高は12F6弦側で約2.0mm、1弦側で約1.5mmで調整されております。

全体的には、アンカー部分の割れ修正跡がありますが通常使用に問題ありません。おおよそ78年製ですが出荷は83年位。当時の広告はムスタングアイコンである日本を代表するあのギタリスト。当時を懐かしむにもよしです。また78年、83年生まれだけどこのルックスとは譲れない・・・というバースイヤーギターをお探しの方にもよいかもです!
