This is the limited color Studio that was also listed in the catalog at that time. The lineup included metallic blue, copper, metallic green, yellow metallic, etc. This one is red metallic. This is a Studio bass with maple top and mahogany back, but the fingerboard is ebony and the position marks are only on the side. The neck is mahogany, and the neck shape is "59 Rounded". The neck is mahogany with a "59 Rounded" neck shape, which is moderately thick in the Gibson style.
The PU is a combination of 490R & 498T pickups, which are good at modern tone with solid fatness.

There are scratches, scuffs, line scratches, dents, and peeling paint on the body. The pickguard has picking scratches with an overall finely clouded look. There is a rice-sized peel of paint on the lower left side of the bridge and the lower right edge of the body. There are wipe scratches and scuffs all over the body. The top of the body is dotted with small dents. The sides of the body have scratches and small dings, mainly on the bottom. The body back has buckle scratches throughout. The outer edge of the body back is dotted with small and large dings. There are fingernail marks on the back of the neck, mainly in the high position. There is a small piece of clear peeling on the top left side of the head, and there are some scratches around the head. There are picking scratches on the 6th string side of the front PU and on the escutcheon, which looks cloudy. The strap pins have been replaced. Each hardware has some scuffs and signs of use, but there are no operational problems.

The neck condition is fine, and the truss rod can be adjusted in the direction to tighten or loosen, and can still be turned and adjusted in the direction to tighten. There are no noticeable string marks on the frets, and about 80% of the frets are left. Currently, the string height is adjusted at about 2.0mm on the 12F 6th string side and about 1.5mm on the 1st string side.

Overall, the condition is commensurate with its age, with some minor paint peeling and buckle scratches on the body back. This is a limited color variation model of the popular Studio model, and together with the simple ebony fingerboard, it is very cool! This is a great first Gibson!
