Michael Anthony Signature Model
The "BB1000-MA" is a reasonably-priced version of the "BB3000-MA," a high-end signature model of Michael Anthony, bassist of the legendary hard rock band Van Halen, with some specification changes!
Wood material is Alder body, Maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard. This is a bolt-on specification. It has a 40mm wide ox bone nut, slightly thinner neck shape, and heel-cut joint for easy access to high positions and a non-stress fit near the end of the fingerboard.
Also, the red peppercorn, which is his favorite, is applied as a position mark.
The pickups are PJ layout, with the split coil position on the front side reversed from the F Company design, so that the treble string side, which tends to sound thin, is closer to the neck, giving the impression of a rich and balanced output in the 4th to 1st string mid-range. The blade piece single coil on the rear side has a perfect balance of output by itself, and when mixed with the front pickup, you can enjoy a tight sound with a unique mid feel.
There are some dents and scratches on the overall appearance, buckle scratches on the back of the body, cracks in the paint at the neck joint, and some paint chips around the end pins and around the perimeter of the head. The hardware is a little scuffed, but there are currently no operational problems, and it has been polished relatively well.
The neck end is slightly cracked and has been reinforced with bond.
The second string peg is distorted and has been greased, but is still a little stiff.
The neck condition is fine, and the truss rod has been fully tightened, but can still be loosened.
