Meticulously crafted to deliver the ultimate playing experience and a warm, vintage tone, the McCarty Singlecut 594 features 22 frets, a 24.594"scale, a Pattern Vintage neck with binding, and a slightly thickened back to draw out richer tone and sustain. It is equipped with 58/15 LT+ treble and bass pickups that have undergone the TCI (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) process.The 58/15 LT+ pickups deliver a sound with unparalleled clarity, rich midrange, and vintage character. The bridge is a two-piece zinc alloy stoptail bridge with brass saddles and studs for enhanced resonance, and it is equipped with vintage-style tuners.

In the late 1980s, Paul Reed Smith asked Ted McCarty to serve as a consultant on guitar design and manufacturing techniques. McCarty became not only a mentor but also a dear friend to Paul and everyone he met at PRS. In 1994, they released the first McCarty model, incorporating the techniques and knowledge absorbed from Ted, as well as his own extensive experience as a guitar builder.

And in 2024, PRS Guitars is updating the tuning pegs used on many Core models to enhance sound quality.Designed with the motif of the winged bird inlay at the 12th fret, the new Wing Buttons are lighter than the previous metal peg buttons, minimizing string vibration loss while producing longer sustain and a more musical sound. Additionally, the adoption of non-locking tuners on models without a tremolo system has contributed to further weight reduction.
