ロイド・ロアーが手掛けたギブソンの最初のfホール・ギター、L-5の系譜を引くL-5C。17インチ幅のボディ、ベネチアン・カッタウェイをフィーチャーした優美なデザインが目を惹くだけではなく、リッチなトーン、深いレゾナンスも魅力です。
当個体は1977年製。著名なリペア工房によって、指板とネックの間にメイプルのくさび状の薄板を挟んでの指板アングル修正、指板の歪み修正、リフレット(Stew Mac #150を使用)、ナット交換(牛骨を使用)、指板エンドのバインディング剥がれ修正、ブリッジ・ベースのフィッティング、サドル底面にエボニーの薄板を貼っての補強、サドル上面の弦溝と感覚の調整、テールピースを移動してのセンターずれ修正、ネック裏のオーバー・ラッカーがなされています。他に打痕、引っ掻き傷、タッチアップ箇所、塗膜の劣化、ペグのブッシュの浮き、金属部品の錆やくすみなどの使用感や経年変化が確認できますが、年式を考慮すれば比較的綺麗な外観を維持していると言えます。
上記の通り、きちんと調整されておりますので、演奏性、サウンドともに申し分ありません。名器の実感、弾く楽しさ、持つ喜びを味わえる逸品です。

This L-5C is in the lineage of Gibson's first f-hole guitar, the L-5, created by Lloyd Lohr. 17" wide body, featuring a Venetian cutaway, is not only eye-catching with its graceful design, but also rich in tone and deep resonance.
This particular instrument was made in 1977. A well-known repair shop corrected the fingerboard angle by placing a wedge of maple between the fingerboard and neck, corrected the fingerboard distortion, refretted (using Stew Mac #150), replaced the nut (using a cow bone), corrected the binding peeling on the fingerboard end, fitted the bridge and bass, and replaced the saddle. The bottom of the saddle has been reinforced with a thin sheet of ebony, the string groove and feel on the top of the saddle have been adjusted, the tailpiece has been moved to correct the off-center position, and the back of the neck has been over-lacquered. Other than that, dents, scratches, touch-up areas, paint deterioration, floating peg bushings, rust and tarnish on metal parts, and other signs of use and aging can be seen, but considering the age of the instrument, it can be said that it maintains a relatively clean appearance.
As mentioned above, it has been properly tuned, so both playability and sound are perfect. This is a gem that allows you to experience the joy of playing and owning a great instrument.
