Yoshiyuki Kikuchi, who served as Chief Luthier at the Sadowsky Tokyo branch and recently launched Three Dots Guitars.
Combining a wealth of ideas—including the know-how gained from years of instrument crafting and collaborations with numerous musicians—Mr. Kikuchi has created “Kikuchi Guitars,” a brand that represents the culmination of his career.

The “Hermes” series is designed to be accessible to a wider range of players.
While maintaining its proven quality, the series offers an affordable price point by limiting certain specifications and color options.
This is a limited-edition model produced in very small quantities. Featuring a flame-textured finish and black hardware, it boasts a very cool look.
Since the components affecting playability and sound are the same as usual, you can use this guitar with complete confidence.

・Features
Neck: To achieve optimal resonance and weight balance during play, the neck has been reinforced and the headstock made thicker.
With a nut width narrower than that of a standard J-style guitar and a neck grip that retains just the right amount of thickness for durability and playability—making it easy to grip—you can play smoothly from the low to the high positions, and even mute the wide-neck 5th string with ease.

To accommodate a wide range of playing styles and musical genres, the string action is uniformly set up across all fret positions, delivering a powerful tone for aggressive picking and a warm, enveloping tone for gentle, sweeping fingerstyle playing.

Body: Features a redesigned “Dinky” shape, tailored for stress-free playing even for players with Japanese body types. Beyond its maneuverability for modern tones, the solid body—with its moderate weight—produces a well-defined tone and enables a wide range of tonal variations.

The MV model is crafted from ash. In addition to the light and crisp tone of the maple fingerboard, it is characterized by a dry, punchy tone.

Pickup: It is equipped with a custom DiMarzio model, also used in the Custom Series. These hum-canceling pickups deliver a sharp, crisp, and powerful sound while reducing noise.

Preamp: To achieve the ultimate tone envisioned by Kikuchi, this model is equipped with an original preamp—also used in the Custom Series—developed in collaboration with one of the world’s leading design manufacturers.
When the boost is engaged, the low and high frequencies remain clear and natural at any setting, while the midrange is scooped. The design also minimizes the perceptible difference in volume and tone quality when switching between passive and active modes.
