The '94 D-41 with square-rod, non-scalloped braces!

The D-41 was introduced in 1969, but in 1987, the top brace was changed from non-scalloped to scalloped, the pickguard was changed from black to tortoiseshell, and the hexagon position markings were added at the 1st and 17th frets. The hexagon position markings were added to the 1st and 17th frets, making it somewhat smaller. Also, standard Martin products began to use adjustable rods instead of square rods in 1985, but this particular guitar was made in 1994 and still has square rods and non-scalloped braces. The nut width is about 43mm, the pegs are Schaller, and the somewhat darker neck color is typical of Martin products of the time.
There are some dents, scratches, weather checks, and cloudy paint, A slight horizontal scratch is visible on the lower back. Considering the age of the instrument, it can be said to be in reasonable condition.
The neck angle was adjusted, refretted, the saddle was replaced, and the nut was raised at a partner repair store. The sound and playability are perfect.
The square-rod, non-scalloped top brace gives it a thick core similar to 70's models, and it also has the sparkle of a 40's model. This is a recommended gem that combines power in strokes and gentleness in fingerpicking.

「スクエア・ロッド、ノン・スキャロップド・ブレース採用の94年製D-41！」

名機D-45譲りの倍音豊かなトーンと歌に寄り添う適度なボリュームが人気のD-41。1969年に登場したD-41は、1987年にトップ・ブレースがノン・スキャロップドからスキャロップドに、ピックガードが黒からべっ甲柄に代わり、ヘキサゴンのポジション・マークが1フレット、17フレットに追加され幾分小ぶりなものに変更されました。また標準的なマーティン製品には1985年にそれまでのスクエア・ロッドに代わってアジャスタブル・ロッドを採用されるようになりましたが、当個体は1994年製でありながらスクエア・ロッド、ノン・スキャロップド・ブレースが採用されています。ナット幅は約43mmで、ペグはシャーラー製の物が搭載されており、幾分濃いネックの色味は当時のマーティン製品に見られたものです。
打痕、引っ掻き傷、ウェザー・チェック、塗膜の曇りが散見され、金属部品には僅かなメッキのくすみが、トップの低音弦側くびれ近くには二個所の塗膜のクラックが、指板16フレットの低音側脇のトップに僅かな白濁が、低音側ネック・バインディングにはクラックが確認できるほか、バック下方には横方向の引っ掻き傷がやや目立ちます。年式を考慮すれば、概ね相応の使用感、劣化と言えるでしょう。
提携先リペア・ショップにて、ネックのアングル調整、リフレット、サドル交換、ナットの嵩上げをおこないました。演奏性、サウンドともに申し分ありません。
スクエア・ロッド、ノン・スキャロップドのトップ・ブレースだけあって、70年代の製品に通じる芯の太さを感じさせ、また40番代らしいきらびやかさもあります。ストロークでの力強さ、指弾きでの優しさを兼ね備えたお勧めの逸品。
