This is an OM-42 made in 2003. Despite the vintage-style decorations, this is a relatively new model, released in 1999, featuring a 15" wide body, equivalent to the OM-42000, and a 24.9" scale, the same as a dreadnought. The brace size is 1/4", the same as the D-35, but the top brace is scalloped. A wider neck is used than at the time, with an actual nut width of approximately 45mm.
There is no noticeable damage other than a minor playing scratch on the pickguard, a rice grain-sized ding on the edge of the lower back bulge, and a relatively obvious capo mark on the back of the neck, as well as scratches on the surface of the paint, which can only be noticed by staring at it with the hand. Despite being more than 20 years old, the instrument retains a good appearance.
The neck is in proper condition and the truss rod has been checked to 60 degrees left and right. The frets have no dents and remain at around 80% height, making it perfect in terms of playability and sound.
The sound is perfect. The body is small, but it plays loudly and well. The bass is not too loud, but it is very strong. 40's model with overtones and luster.
The OM is popular among fingerstyle players, but this particular model can be enjoyed well enough for lead playing and flat picking. This is a recommended instrument that can be used for all purposes.

「良く鳴ります！状態良好のOM-42！」

2003年製のOM-42です。ヴィンテージ風の装飾をまとっていますが、1999年に発売された比較的新しいモデル。000同等の15インチ幅のボディ、ドレッドノートと同じ24.9インチ・スケールをフィーチャー。ブレース・サイズはD-35と同じ1/4インチですが、トップ・ブレースはスキャロップ加工がなされています。当時より幅広のネックが採用されており、ナット幅は実測値約45mmです。
ピックガード上の軽度な弾き傷、バックの下方の膨らみの端にある米粒大の打痕、ネック裏にカポ痕らしき傷が比較的分かりやすい以外は、塗膜表面上の擦り傷、塗膜の退きが手にとって凝視して初めて気づく程度で、目立つダメージはありません。製造から20年以上経っているにもかかわらず、良好な外観を維持しています。
ネックの状態も適正でトラスロッドは左右60度まで動作確認済。フレットには凹み箇所がなく高さは8割前後残っており、演奏性、サウンドともに申し分ありません。
小ぶりなボディながらラウドに良く鳴ってくれます。低音もうるさ過ぎない程度に、しっかり出てくれます。40番代のモデルらしい倍音、音の艶も感じさせてくれます。
フィンガー・スタイル愛好家に人気のOMですが、当個体に関して言えば、リード・プレイやフラット・ピッキングまで十分楽しめるでしょう。オールマイティにお使いいただけるお勧めの一本です。
