A 1978 Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst has arrived!

This guitar has a distinctly 70s vibe, featuring a rich, deep red burst finish that extends across the body sides, back, and neck.

Its well-played condition and vintage-inspired presence make for a truly captivating look.

As a 1978 model, it features the standard mahogany back and maple top configuration, not the earlier "pancake" body.
The neck is a three-piece maple neck with a thinner grip typical of this era.

It also feels light for its age at 4.35kg, with excellent body balance.

It's equipped with two "stamped numbered PAF" pickups.
Combined with the maple neck, it produces a bright, attack-driven sound characteristic of the 70s.
Even when heavily distorted, it maintains its contour and has excellent projection, making it well-suited for hard rock and similar genres.

Some solder is visible on the pots, but all are believed to be original.

There are signs that the covers for each pickup have been removed at some point.
Additionally, there are chips on the rod cover and control knobs.

The cover for the control cavity, typical for this era, is present, but one screw is missing.
The nut has been replaced, the pickup escutcheon mounting screws have been replaced, two pickup escutcheons have been replaced (with milling on the underside), and the tuners have been replaced with Grover tuners.

There is sun fading on the headstock top, scratches and dents across the body, and partial paint loss primarily on the body back and neck back. However, the playing condition is good.
There are also signs of an over-lacquer application in the past.

This 70s Gibson has the look and sound unique to its era, and prices have been rising in recent years!
