The Songwriter, with its square-shouldered body, was introduced in 2003. It is a relatively new series of electric acoustic guitars in Gibson's acoustic guitar lineup. It features a sophisticated form and sound that sets it apart from Gibson's previous acoustic guitars. It features specifications that make it easy to use in all situations, including singing accompaniment, solo styles, lead guitar work, and production.
This model is a 2006 Songwriter Deluxe. It has a cutaway and features a spruce top and rosewood sides and back. It is equipped with a Fishman PREFIX PLUS-T preamp for versatile sound creation. This is a reliable item in a performance environment where sound-making must be done at one's own risk.

There is a vigorous playing scratch around the soundhole, but there are no dents or peeling of the paint. The paint film around the bridge is lifting. There are dents, scratches, cloudy paint, and rusty or dull plating on metal parts, but there is no noticeable damage. The age and feel of the instrument is commensurate with its age.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been confirmed to operate at 60 degrees left and right. The frets have been rubbed together and there are no dents, and about 70% of the height remains. Both playability and sound are perfect.
The rosewood sides and back give the sound pressure, but the bass is tight and not boomy. This is an easy-to-use guitar that meets the needs of today. Highly recommended.
