Art Esparza joined Fender in 1987. At first, he was assigned to the regular line, where he was responsible for various tasks. He was recruited by John Page, the General Manager, and moved to the Custom Shop as the seventh staff member after only one year. From there, he continued to build his career and skills over the next few years, and in 1994, his seventh year with the company, he was promoted to Master Builder.
Described by John Page as an "all-rounder," Art created a wide variety of guitars, designing and building guitars for U2, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, and many other top artists. In 2004, he became ill and left Fender in January 2006.
We now have in stock a used "50th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster built by Art Esparza" that Art created in 2004!

This anniversary model was made in 2004 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Stratocaster. This model was built by Art Esparza, and was produced by various builders at that time.
Two-piece ash body with maple neck. The neck shape is U-shape with a good thickness and a comfortable grip for the hand.
The fretboard radius is 7.25R, and 21 vintage type frets are installed to reproduce the 1954 Strat as well as possible in 2004.

The body is a sunburst color, and a 1-ply pickguard with 8-point fastening is used for the 1954 Stratocaster specs.

Three "54 Strat" PUs, which are believed to be the originals, are installed.
The pickups are equipped with three "54 Strat" PUs, which are thought to be the originals, with short G pole pieces and rounded pickup covers, reproduced for the first time in this project.
The sound is clear, bright, and nouveau.
The controls are 5-way specification "Master Volume, Tone 1.(Neck Pickup), Tone 2.(Middle Pickup)".

There are some minor dents and scratches on the body, and some parts are dull.
In addition, there is a spot on the end of the body where the paint is peeling off. There are also some spots where the paint is peeling off the end of the body.
Although there are a few points where there is a sense of use, it is an individual in good condition for one that is over 20 years old, and it is one that appears to have been carefully handled.
The hard case is also original and has the 50th limited edition logo printed inside.

Art Esparza, who has produced many guitars, has worked on this precious 1954 Strat, which was only produced in its 50th anniversary year.
