USED Martin CTM D-45 Italian Alpine Spruce Top [03]

Custom D-45, made in 2008 for Martin's 175th anniversary!

This is a custom D-45 made in 2008, the 175th anniversary of Martin's founding. It has "C.F.MARTIN&Co. 1833-2008 175 YEARS" branding on the center seam of the back inside the body. Premium grade Italian alpine spruce is used for the top wood, mother-of-pearl is used for the hexagon position mark, and Avalon inlays are applied inside the binding of the headstock plate, on the side of the headstock, and on the side of the fingerboard, as well as on the bridge. Avalon snowflake inlays are filled in on the left and right sides of the bridge. The headstock is rounded, the bracing is non-scalloped, the pickguard is black with beveled edges, and the pegs are Grover, in homage to early 70s D-45s, but the rod is adjustable instead of square. The nut width is about 43 mm, and the neck shape is full chicness.
An L.R. Baggs Anthem Stage Pro has been installed as a retrofit. The preamp controls are on the side, which makes it easier to operate and change batteries than the regular Anthem. The endpin jack is not a genuine one, but is fixed to the body with a wood screw, so there is no need to worry about the strap cap coming loose during use. The strap pin is attached to the bottom of the heel of the neck.
The top of the instrument has some age-related paint fading, a few faint scratches, and some very light scratching, but none of these can be overlooked unless you hold the instrument in your hand and stare at it while reflecting the light source. The paint film on the sound hole side of the bridge is slightly lifted, but this is a common sign of age. The plating on the pegs is slightly tarnished, but the luster is still there. The original hard case is included, but regrettably the key is missing.
The guitar has been inspected, adjusted, and fretted by our repair department, and comes with a 1-year warranty, so you can use it with peace of mind. The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod has been checked for 60 degrees left and right. The frets have been rubbed together, so there are no dents, and more than 80% of the fret height remains. Both playability and sound are perfect.
The rich volume, overtones, and sustain of the D-45 are truly D-45, and the non-scalloped bracing gives it a tough but not intrusive tone, blending the suppleness and elegance of Italian alpine spruce with a rich tone that is exceptional.
