One of Martin's most famous 12-string guitar models, introduced in 1965 during the folk boom. The large body gives this model a well-balanced sound with rich mids and lows and the sparkling highs characteristic of 12-string guitars.
There are dents, scratches, weather checks, and cloudy or deteriorated paint throughout, and the metal parts of the pegs are rusted. There is a bump mark below the lower bout on the treble string side, and the binding and top are slightly deformed and the paint is peeling. It is rare to find an original pickguard that still has the Martin crack correction, but the pickguard has been reapplied after it was removed, leaving the pickguard distorted and the top paint peeling around the pickguard. The binding at the neck of the body has been repaired in all four places on both sides of the front and back, but unfortunately, the finish is not very beautiful.
The fretboard has been refretted, and more than 80% of the fretboard height remains. The bridge has been slightly lowered. The neck has been ironed out by our repair department. The neck itself is in fair condition, but the neck angle seems to be shallow. The current string height at the 12th fret is about 3.0 mm at the 6th course and about 2.0 mm at the 1st course. The saddle margin is about slight.
The tension is not very strong, yet it sounds rich. It has the gentleness and elegance that is typical of Martin. L.R.Baggs RT System pickups have been retrofitted and are ready for live performance. Recommended for those looking for a great sounding Martin 12-string guitar.
