USED NO BRAND / Custom-Order Double-Neck Bass [03]

We’ve just received a used, avant-garde custom-order bass!

This unique and distinctive model features a Jaguar-shaped body and a 5-string bass with a high-C tuning, split into a double-neck design with three strings (E, A, D) on one side and two strings (G, C) on the other.

The only control is a toggle switch that switches between the 3-string side, both sides, and the 2-string side.
It features a minimalist and extremely radical design that omits the volume control.

The neck end is marked "F.C.G.R."; upon verification, it appears to have been a full custom order built by Freedom Custom Guitar Research around 2001.
Although the specifications are unconventional, this instrument showcases some of the highest technical expertise in Japan in the details, such as the precision of the neck pocket, the frets, and the finish on the fingerboard edges.

The neck is currently in good condition overall, but the truss rod on the 3rd string side has approximately 90 degrees of adjustment remaining in the loosening direction.

There are scratches and dents visible throughout the body and neck, indicating signs of use.
There are signs that the screw holes for the strap pins have been re-drilled.

It is equipped with Schaller-type locking pins, but the strap side is missing.

It comes with a dedicated hard case, though the exterior has some peeling and there are visible sticker marks.
