The American Standard Series 5-string Jazz Bass, a best-selling model alongside the American Vintage Series, is now available used!

Fender, the originator of the electric bass. Among their offerings, the American Standard series, updated in name and specifications, remains a beloved long-seller to this day.

Since its debut in 1986 as part of Fender USA's regular line, the American Standard series was cherished as the go-to electric bass for many players for about 31 years until production ended in 2017. It was sold as the American series starting in 2000, but interestingly, it was renamed back to the American Standard series after 2008.

This American Standard bass, manufactured in 2012, is a relatively recent addition to our inventory.
True to its name, it features classic materials: an alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The neck boasts a satin finish and a Modern C shape, offering exceptional playability.
Compared to the current American Professional II series, the main differences lie in the cutaway design, the neck joint, and the pickups. This already indicates a very high level of refinement at the time.

The sound is also exceptionally well-balanced. Centered around a rich, resonant midrange, everything from the low end to the high end is clear and high-quality. The tension on the 5th string is also outstanding, and the Low B's resonance is every bit as good as, if not better than, an active bass.

Scratches and dents are scattered across the entire body, and signs of use are visible, such as a small dent on the headstock and some dullness on the hardware.
However, the neck is currently problem-free. The truss rod functions normally. While the frets show wear, they are not yet at the point requiring refretting after a fret leveling.
