The Aerodyne series, representing the modern basses of Japanese-made Fender, is now available used!

The Aerodyne series dominated the scene from its 2004 launch until its much-lamented discontinuation in 2022. This model features iconic specifications like its metallic finish and PJ pickup configuration.

Based on the serial number, this unit appears to have been manufactured between 2007 and 2010. Furthermore, the neck pocket bears the marking "AJB-66". Since this marking was only used on Aerodyne models between 2006 and 2007, we believe this unit was likely manufactured in 2007, the first year the marking changed from "Crafted in Japan" to "MADE IN JAPAN".
The materials are a basswood body, rosewood fingerboard, and maple neck. The body features an archtop shape, adding a rich, warm element to the Aerodyne's generally modern sound character. The controls are 2 Volume, 1 Tone, faithfully following the Jazz Bass specification as indicated by the model name.
Overall, as mentioned earlier, it delivers a modern, crisp sound. However, the PJ configuration prevents it from leaning too heavily into modernity, resulting in a highly versatile instrument. No specific frequency range feels overly congested, allowing you to enjoy its mellow high-mids.

While there are signs of use, such as slight discoloration on parts, a dent on the back of the body, a small paint chip on the lower front of the body, overall scuffs, and pickguard wear, it's in good condition for an Aerodyne series bass, which often shows significant paint chips or sticker residue.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod functions properly.
