The Special Semi-Hollow features an H-S-H (humbucker-single-coil-humbucker) pickup configuration, with 58/15 LT pickups for the treble and bass positions and a Narrowfield pickup for the middle position. The Narrowfield pickup reduces hum while delivering the bite characteristic of single-coil pickups and a clear, powerful sound that cuts through any ensemble.

Combined with a 5-way blade switch and a mini-toggle switch for coil-splitting the 58/15 LT, this setup offers a rich variety of 12 different sounds suitable for any genre. Additionally, rolling off the tone control produces a thick, sweet sound, while rolling it up yields a sparkling tone, allowing you to enjoy a wide range of sonic variations.

Other specifications include a maple top, mahogany back, a 22-fret mahogany neck with a 25-inch scale, and a rosewood fingerboard, along with Phase III locking tuners and a PRS-original Gen III tremolo unit.The semi-hollow body construction with f-holes minimizes the volume difference between the humbucker and single-coil pickups while imparting a pleasant airiness and depth to the guitar’s tone.
