USED Fender / 1966 Jazzmaster Olympic White [03]

We’ve just received a 1966 Fender Jazzmaster with a cool original Olympic White finish!!

The Fender Jazzmaster was released in 1958 as a high-end model.
Although it was originally developed for jazz musicians, as its name suggests, its unique sound and distinctive design have led to its use in rock, alternative, grunge, shoegaze, and indie rock genres. Today, it is one of the most popular models and is loved by many guitarists.

It features a custom Olympic White finish on an alder body with a tortoiseshell-patterned pickguard.

The neck, dated 4OCT65B, is a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard and a matching headstock.
The bound neck and dot position marks are also characteristics unique to this transitional period.

The neck shape is a slightly thinner C-shape that appears to
, making it a comfortable neck that’s typical of this era.

It is equipped with two pickups with gray bobbins.
The front pickup has no date stamp, while the rear pickup is dated 1-14-66, indicating it was manufactured in 1966.

There are no signs that either has been replaced, so we believe they are original; however, there is evidence of repair—specifically, re-soldering at one of the grommet points on the rear pickup.
Additional foam padding has been added beneath the pickups.

The sound has the crisp clarity typical of a Jazzmaster, yet it also delivers a rich, full-bodied tone
power, delivering a tone unique to vintage instruments.

The volume pot has been replaced, while the tone pot is an original 304-6516 manufactured in 1965.

We were unable to see the dates on the pots in the preamp section, but there are no signs that they have been replaced.

The neck has been set up with one additional shim added to the original one.

Overall, there are some scratches, paint chips, pickguard shrinkage, and weather checking, but
it remains in fairly good condition considering its age.

It comes with a black Tolex case without a logo.

This is a very rare vintage Jazzmaster in a custom color, whose value continues to rise year after year.
It’s a truly cool guitar with a classic vintage look.
