This is a Yanagisawa tenor saxophone. Although the model number is 800, this particular instrument has completely different specifications. While there are some elements that seem to be inspired by the 10M model, the tone holes are most likely soldered. It features a nickel-plated finish not found on standard models, so I believe it is either a custom-made instrument or a prototype.It produces a sound that rivals that of vintage American saxophones and takes a different sonic direction from traditional Yanagisawa instruments. All the pads have been replaced and the instrument has been fully adjusted, so it’s ready to play right out of the box.
